A married couple from war-torn South Sudan, Bol Majur (Sope Dirisu) and Rial Majur (Wunmi Mosaku), manage to escape the dangerous life they once led, only to find themselves struggling to adapt to their new beginning in England. In the 1930’s, prison guards responsible for patrolling death row at a penitentiary, come across a moral dilemma when they quickly discover that John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), a new inmate and a convicted murderer, has an unexplained supernatural gift that he is slowly demonstrating while on death row. 99 Homes (2014) – Review

After Dennis Nash (Andrew Garfield) finds himself in financial hardship and consequently, sees his family evicted from their own home, he begins to work for the man that fronted the team responsible for the eviction in the first place. When he starts earning major cash from his new career venture, the future seems bright, but while juggling mixed emotions and morale decisions on a daily basis, the reality of the situation he finds himself in, quickly brings him back down to earth. A really well-made movie that is worth the watch for anyone into hard-hitting dramas.

Corona (2020) – Review

When a handful of people that barely know each other get trapped inside a broken elevator, tensions rise and their fear of each other becomes quickly apparent, especially considering the fact that the Coronavirus had just come to fruition. As far as indie films go, probably not the finest I’ve set my eyes on this year, but at the same time it did have one or two redeeming qualities that made the flick just about watchable on a whole. Corona was presented to me in exchange for an honest and fair review prior to its release in September, 2020.

The Highwaymen (2019) – Review

After the FBI struggle to get the job done, two former, notorious Texas Rangers, Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and Maney Gault (Woody Harrelson), are tasked with using their gut instinct and every bit of experience they possess, to track down and eventually stop the rain of terror being caused across America by the infamous outlaws, Bonnie and Clyde. A pretty steady Netflix tale which is based on a true story. It’s worth noting that this review was based solely on the movie I watched at the time and not the true story it was based off.

Proxima (2019) – Review

When French astronaut Sarah Loreau (Eva Green) receives the news that she will soon be involved in a year-long space exploration mission called Proxima, the laborious training at the European Space Agency in Cologne begins, aswell as the agonising personal decisions that have to be made, particularly those that involve her eight-year-old daughter, Stella (Zelie Boulant). A really effective and at times emotional drama that is worth every bit of the modest one-hundred and seven-minute runtime.
