From there, Mark Watney (Matt Damon), must do his best to find a way of communicating to Earth, to start the ball rolling on a daring rescue operation that quickly turned into a race against time. Hereditary (2018) – Review

Annie (Toni Collette) is a model maker with an extremely volatile and unstable family history – when her elderly mother passes away, Annie and the rest of her family begin experiencing disturbing events that tie in with the emotional trauma that has been passed through the generations of their household. A somewhat interesting premise, and genuinely scary movie at times, with a sinister, supernatural theme throughout. Hereditary is now streaming on Netflix.

Sometime in the near future, the American government plan to send out a signal that will make it virtually impossible for any citizen to commit an unlawful crime – consequently, a small team form and plan to execute one final heist before the signal takes effect. On a whole, a movie with a pretty interesting and unique premise, but not one that materialised into anything worthy of a repeat viewing or recommendation.

After several children from different families are suspected to have been killed by wolves that roam the area, writer Russell Core (Jeffrey Wright) is hired by the parent of one of the missing children – a six-year-old boy. Russell is tasked with the mission of tracking down her missing son and also to locate the animal responsible, all while navigating the dangerous Alaskan wilderness. An interesting Netflix movie that had the potential to be far better than what eventually transpired.

When Lord Richard Croft (Dominic West) suddenly vanishes, Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander), the daughter of the British explorer, becomes determined to unearth the truth behind the adventurer’s strange disappearance. Pushing herself beyond her limits and armed with clues, she manages to discover the island her father was last seen on and does all she can to find answers from those responsible. It’s worth noting that this review was based solely on the movie I watched at the time and not the video games or previous films that have been made.

Mile 22 (2018) – Review

In South East Asia, a man mysteriously turns up to the US Embassy offering top secret information that could benefit the United States. Consequently, a team of elite American intelligence officers headed by James Silva (Mark Wahlberg) are tasked with getting the man out of the city alive so that he can be extradited to the states. The journey may be short (22 miles) but it’s incredible dangerous as the American officers find out. A thoroughly enjoyable Hollywood blockbuster that seemingly sets itself up for a second movie sometime in the near future.
