The Vault (2021) – Review

A genius engineering graduate has been recruited to breach the walls of the Bank of Spain, to capture precious, lost treasure, concealed inside a secure vault. He, along with the assembled team, devise a plan to break into the bank and take the vault, while the staff are seemingly distracted by a football match being played and broadcast on the big screen in the town center. A really well-made film that successfully keeps you intrigued from the first minute to the last, which has just been released on Amazon Prime Video.

Along the way, new relationships are formed, and old relationships are strained, in this emotionally striking drama. The Great Wall (2016) – Review

A pair of European mercenaries suddenly find themselves imprisoned within The Great Wall of China, before encountering a secret army that defends and maintains the wall against a horde of horrific creatures, known only as the Tao Tei. William (Matt Damon), one of the mercenaries, must begin his journey toward heroism by joining the huge army of elite Chinese warriors, to confront and conquer, this seemingly unstoppable force. A surprisingly entertaining flick, despite a lot of undeserved backlash upon its original release in 2016.

A group of armed and dangerous terrorists hijack a transatlantic plane heading to the United States from Europe, but unbeknownst to them, a woman suffering from a mysterious illness is also on the flight and is quickly called into action to try and prevent the deaths of everyone onboard. Not the worst way to spend an evening, especially considering some of the newer material released lately on our streaming services. It’s also worth noting that Blood Red Sky is currently available to watch on Netflix.

The Vanishing (2018) – Review

Based solely on the Flannan Isle mystery in the early 1900’s, three lighthouse keepers on a secluded island for six weeks, stumble across a hidden trunk of gold after an unknown boat crashes into their land. Little did the trio know that this would introduce an uncomfortable amount of pressure into each of their lives, ultimately leading to the disappearance of all three of the keepers. An incredibly well made and at times tense film that was originally released in 2018 – well worth a watch.
