The Revenant (2015) – Review

Set in 1820’s America, frontiersman Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) enrolls on a classic tale of survival and revenge after suffering devastating injuries from a savage bear attack, along with finding out that his son has been murdered. The grief-stricken father must conjure together every bit of energy and expertise to trek through the wintry terrain to track down John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy), the man who was the one to kill his only son. A visually impressive movie that is currently streaming on Netflix.

Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), a reporter living in San Francisco, struggles when his life seemingly turns upside down overnight, after digging too deep when investigating something called the “Life Foundation”. A humourous at times, yet equally as brutal movie that may not have quite lived up to heights some had initially expected.

El Camino (2019) – Review

Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) does a splendid job when returning in the well anticipated Breaking Bad movie. Reprising his role as Albuquerque’s favourite drug dealer, the now scarred and shaven headed fugitive faces the daunting task of starting fresh and escaping his demons, while being chased by the authorities and perhaps more dangerously, his past. An enjoyable and fitting tribute to the Jessie Pinkman character that is now streaming on Netflix.
