Deepwater Horizon (2016) – Review

April 2010 saw one of the most devastating natural disasters to hit America, after an offshore drilling oil rig called the Deepwater Horizon exploded and caused a catastrophic oil spill, resulting in a multitude of deaths. This dramatisation follows Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg) and his crew, as they try to tackle the horrendous event that was thrust upon them. A very impactful film with a tremendous amount of suspense and a solid cast. It’s worth noting that Deepwater Horizon is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The Tomorrow War (2021) – Review

The entire world is in disbelief and pure shock, after a small group of time travellers arrive from the near future and alert people to the fact that mankind is losing a global war against an unknown, yet deadly, alien species. Their only hope is to rely on everyday civilians to fight in the future and hopefully triumph against the evil that has been inflicted on the planet. An interestingly unique story that has a fairly long runtime, but at the same time is more than worthy of a watch. The Tomorrow War is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The Ice Road (2021) – Review

When the remote Katka diamond mine, collapses in the northern regions of Canada, a skilled ice truck driver called Mike (Liam Neeson), along with a small team, front a near impossible rescue mission over the dangerous and frozen ocean, to deliver the necessary equipment to save the lives of the trapped miners. Along the way, the crew face some unexpected problems, along with some predictable ones too. It’s worth noting that The Ice Road was recently released on Amazon Prime Video, and probably isn’t the worst release of 2021, but at the same time, it certainly isn’t the best.
