A Quiet Place 2 (2020) – Review

In this sequel, the Abbott family face the terrors of the outside world, following the tragic events that occurred previously at their home. Venturing into the wild unknown, they each quickly come to the realisation that the alien creatures, hunting any form of sound, are not the only deadly threat on the prowl. A Quiet Place 2 has recently been released to cinemas and certainly boasts more positives than negatives.

Sicario 1 (2015) – Review

Kate Macer (Emily Blunt), a young and somewhat inexperienced FBI Agent is recruited onto a covert government task force, which has been formed to assist in the escalating war against drugs on the border between the United States and Mexico. Given very little information about the methods and eventual targets of the task force, she soon comes to the realisation that their means of doing things are extremely unorthodox. A widely favoured film that was originally released in 2015 and landed a sequel not long after that.

The Lighthouse (2019) – Review

Two lighthouse keepers attempt to maintain their sanity while living on a remote, secluded and mysterious New England island in the 1890’s. For four weeks, the men will only have themselves for company, will they crack under the pressure of isolation and allow their tension and hatred towards each other to boil over? Definitely one of the finest cinema releases of 2019 and one that is definitely worth a watch.

The Hunt (2012) – Review

Lucas (Mads Mikkelsen) is a hard-working teacher that lives a relatively lonely and peaceful life, while also battling for the custody of his teenage son. Things, however, take a dramatic turn, when one of the children he tutors decides to tell a small lie that consequently begins spreading around the close-knit Danish town where they reside. The Hunt, also known as Jagten, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video and boasts an 8.3 rating on IMDb.

For a Few Dollars More (1965) – Review

Manco (Clint Eastwood) and Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef) are two highly skilled bounty hunters that decide to forge a partnership to take down not only a western outlaw on the run, but his entire posse, to claim the exceptionally large reward on offer. During the mission, however, one of the two bounty hunters showcases his true intentions and meaning for this dangerous chase. Yet another classic Clint Eastwood western that has received a lot of praise since its original release in 1965.

News of the World (2020) – Review

After a young girl is taken by the Kiowa people many years ago, Captain Kidd (Tom Hanks), a war veteran that now drifts from town to town as a non-fiction storyteller, is tasked with returning her to distant biological relatives that are based over two-hundred miles away. The pair then enlist on the treacherous journey, filled with grave dangers, while also searching for a place that either can call home. News of the World was released originally in December 2020, but this past weekend hit our Netflix screens.
