Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) – Review

After Reuben (Elliot Gould) is double crossed by a ruthless businessman named Willy Bank (Al Pacino), Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and the rest of his crew plan to extract revenge by ensuring that a new casino, spearheaded by Willy Bank, is a failure on the night of its grand opening. Retaining its elegant style and sharp humour, this was a fine conclusion to the Ocean’s trilogy. It’s worth noting that Ocean’s Thirteen is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Ocean’s Twelve (2004) – Review

Picking up three years after the events of Ocean’s Eleven, Danny Ocean (George Clooney) gathers his gang of fellow thieves and con artists to plan and execute another heist, this time based in Europe, in a desperate attempt to repay Terry (Danny Garcia) the money in which the group had previously stolen. A solid heist movie but somewhat different to its predecessor. It’s worth noting that Ocean’s Twelve is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Ocean’s Eleven (2001) – Review

With an elaborate scheme to strike it rich etched in his mind, slick con artist Danny Ocean (George Clooney), contacts his old friend, Rusty (Brad Pitt) the day he gets out of prison, in hope of assembling a team of specialists to rinse the impenetrable vault of three Las Vegas casinos, all owned by Terry Benedict (Danny Garcia). The prize would ultimately be one-hundred and fifty million dollars. An old-school heist movie that spawned two sequels. It’s worth noting that Ocean’s Eleven is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Lone Survivor (2013) – Review

In the summer of 2005, Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg) and his highly skilled team, set out on a dangerous and daring mission to capture or kill a notorious Taliban leader, deep in the heart of Afghanistan. Marcus and his team are left to fight for their lives in one of the most valiant efforts of modern warfare. Lone Survivor is one of the finest releases relating the subject of the war in Afghanistan and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Hustle (2022) – Review

A highly respected basketball scout, Stanley Sugerman (Adam Sandler) discovers an unknown street player while scouting in Spain, beginning a long, difficult, yet personal journey to groom the prospect for the dizzy heights of the NBA, as he believes he has the talent required to succeed. A well-written and well-acted drama that isn’t just a movie for basketball or sport fans in general. It’s worth noting that Hustle is currently streaming on Netflix.

Air (2023) – Review

The year is 1984 and the Oregon based company, Nike, are on the verge of closing their basketball division for good, due to the low number of sales and failure in the market, compared to Converse and Adidas. In response, a cluster of Nike employees conjure up a plan to find a new spokesperson for their shoe brand – Michael Jordan, one of the entries into the 1984 NBA draft and overall, third pick. Air is a fantastically written and produced drama that has recently been released on Amazon Prime Video.
